Efficiency potentials are everywhere. Rittal, for example, optimised its family of cooling units to save more energy. The new energy-saving cooling units of Rittal's "Blue e" generation achieved test results of 45 percent less energy use for Daimler, and in some cases even 70 percent compared to standard cooling units. So Rittal's efficient technology helps our customers save energy.

Frank Heinzel and Jörg Immel from Rittal were awarded "Best Energy Efficiency Project 2010". Dieter Posch, Hessian Minister of Trade and Commerce, presented them with the award to honour their outstanding achievements and energy efficiency success at the Rittershausen location.

During her 'energy tour' in autumn 2010 the Hessian Minister for the Environment, Energy, Agriculture and Consumer Protection Lucia Puttrich visited Rittal. She seemed to be impressed with the climate-friendly innovations and energy-saving technologies provided by Rittal and its sister company Wuerz Energy.

In 2009, the members of the Rittal Clima Club preserved a "piece of the future". On behalf of its customers, the German climate specialist planted a total of 6,000 trees in the Oberharz region and in the Selketal nature reserve. Thus, Rittal made an important contribution to sustainable reforestation of damaged forests.

In 2007, Rittal won 1st prize in the regional climate protection competition for their energy efficiency measures, such as heat recovery from compressed air, and for their use of a vegetable oil-driven block-type thermal power station. The Hessian Ministry of the Environment called Rittal's approach "innovative" and recognised that it "could easily be applied in other companies".
